David grew up on a farm near Roseville, Illinois. David’s parents are both in heaven. His seven brothers and sisters live in various parts of the country and are all serving the Lord! Two of his sisters have already gone to be with the Lord.
David graduated from Roseville High School in 1967. He attended Ozark Bible College from 1967 to 1971, and graduated with a Bachelor of Sacred Literature Degree.
In 1969, David married Kathy Betts. They have three children: Krista, who is married to Brian Thomason, (Brian and Krista began a new church plant in Frontenac, Kansas); Matthew and his wife, Jennifer, are the preaching ministers at a new church plant in Iola, Kansas; and Luke and his wife, Stephanie, he is the associate minster at Iola, Kansas. They have provided us with NINE grandchildren one of which just graduated from OCC and MSSU and another is attending OCC. Two more will enter college the fall of 2018, one at OCC and the other at Abilene Christian University. The rest are in grade school or high School.
For 47 years, David was the Evangelist at The Tyro Christian Church in Tyro, Kansas. His first two years were part-time while attending Ozark Christian College. Upon graduation he was hired full-time. Over these past 47 years, the Lord has blessed from an average of 40, to our present attendance of 950 in worship each Sunday. Tyro is a community of 250 people.
In December of 2017 He began preaching at East Bartlesville Christian Church as an interim minister and in March accepted the full time ministry with EBCC.
He currently serves as a trustee for Ozark Christian College.
Two passions David has for the Kingdom is raising up workers for the kingdom and establishing new churches through a network of churches called MOKAN THAT ESTABLISHES CHURCHES IN Missouri, Oklahoma, and Kansas.
During his ministry the Tyro Church has raised up 40 people who are serving full time in ministry.
